Lighthouse Bible Studies Correspondence School is a ministry of New Carrollton Bible Church which is located in New Carrollton, Maryland. Our purpose is to provide FREE Home Bible Studies to any and all individuals who are interested. We have courses for all ages. Each study is brief and well illustrated, with a test or quiz for the student to complete. A certificate is awarded upon the completion of each series. These Bible courses are supplied without charge by individuals concerned for this ministry.
COURSES AVAILABLE:
For Children:
Series 1: See and Do 1 and 2: For preschool children. The 7 lessons in each series present Bible truths through well-illustrated stories to be read to the child, in easily understood form.
Series 2: Storytime Mailbox Club 1 and 2: For ages 6-8 consisting of 7 lessons in each series. These series have interesting stories, teaching important truths, with short Bible lessons.
Series 3: Explorers Mailbox Club 1 and 2: Ideal for those who are 9-10 years old. Series consists of 8 lessons containing excellent basic Bible study material. Each lesson has a puzzle page, emphasizing a truth from the lesson.
For Adults, Both Young and Old
Introduction: Light from the Gospel of John: This is a one lesson introductory course used for enrollment into the LightHouse Bible Study Series. this is a brief study of the Gospel of John with a special emphasis on how to have a personal relationship with God. No certificate is awarded on completion.
Series 1: The New Life in Christ 1: Consists of 12 lessons in 6 booklets, presenting basic truths from God's Word.
Series 2: The New Life in Christ 2: Consists of 12 lessons in 6 booklets. This course is on the life of Christ and is filled with vital truths for all believers.
Series 3: The New Life in Christ 3: Consists of 25 lessons in 13 booklets which cover a wide range of subjects relating to Christian growth.
Series 4: The New Life in Christ 4: Consists of 24 lessons in 8 booklets on "Practical Christian Living".
Series 5: Basic Bible Truths: Consists of 8 lessons on great Bible themes such as Repentance, Faith, and Prayer.
Series 6: Fishers of Men: Consists of 3 lessons in 3 booklets on the topic of learning how to share our faith with others. Scripture Memory Cards are provided with each lesson.
God's Message to You !!
My friend, if you were to die today are you 100% certain that you are going to heaven? If you were to die today, and were to stand before God, and He asked you why He should let you in His heaven, what would you say? Did you know that we can be saved and be 100% certain? God tells us in His word that you can know....In 1 John 5:13 the Bible says, "...These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God..." Now what is it that God wants you to know? He says in Romans 3:10, "...As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:...", He also says in Romans 3:23, "...For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..." This means that I am a sinner, and that means you are a sinner, also. (Wouldn't you agree...??? Based on God's Word will you agree that you are a sinner?) What is sad is that most people do not realize the seriousness of sin. God is a holy God and all sin is against God. Now, the seriousness of sin can be seen in Romans 5:12, where it says, "...Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:..." Adam committed the first sin in the whole world. "...and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:..."This word death doesn't mean just dying and going to the grave; it means eternal separation from God forever and ever in a lake of fire. This is our punishment for our sin and a debt you owe as of right now. But thanks be to God that the story does not end here!!! In Romans 6:23 the Bible says, "...For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." It's a gift; it's absolutely free. You can't buy it, work for it, go to church for it, or be good for it. It is free! It would be as if a friend went to the store and purchased you a present. He paid for it, wrapped it, put a pretty bow on it, and brought it to you. He did everything for you; all you have to do is receive it. That is what Jesus did! He left His home in Heaven, came to earth, died on the cross, shed His blood, bore our sins in His body, and paid for them. He did everything for you; all you have to do is receive it. Romans 5:8 says He did this for while still sinners. "...But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us...". Most people think they have to stop doing everything bad before God will save them. But God loves us as sinners and Christ died for us. He never did anything wrong. He left Heaven and died on the cross for you and me When Jesus died for you, He made it possible for you to have forgiveness of sins and eternal life. But, because Christ died for you, that does not automatically save you. Now, friend, you know you're a sinner, is that correct? You realize you're lost without Jesus in your heart, and you believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for you, right? Then, this is what you need to do; In Romans 10:9-13 the Bible says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture saith, 'Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference' between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that all upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Now, my friend, "whosoever" means you. We could put your name there, "for if ______________ shall all upon the name of the Lord ______________ shall be saved." Do you think God would lie to you? No, of course not. Then, according to the Bible, if you asked Jesus into your heart right now, He would save you forever. Wouldn't you like to do this? If you mean this with all your heart, if you wish to trust Jesus to take you to Heaven when you die, just bow your head and pray this prayer right now. "Dear Jesus, I confess to you that I am a sinner. I realize that without you, I cannot enter into heaven. Please forgive me of all my sin and come into my heart. I thank you for dying in my place and for shedding your blood as payment for my sins. I trust You today, and graciously receive your free gift of eternal life. Thank you for saving me! Amen." Now, according to the Bible, if you were to die today, where would you go? That's right, Heaven, for the Bible in John 3:36 says "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
