We are Richard and Lynn Bowen, and this is our family website. Our immediate family consists of ourselves and our two children - a son Anthony and a daughter Rachel. We also have a dog, Dixie.
We have a house in Clermont, Florida - about 10 miles from the land of Mickey Mouse, but currently are living in Northern Virginia.
I am a computer scientist by education, but have limited experience in webpage design - this is my practice. It also provides a means of sharing our interests with others.
In a note of sadness, yet of celebration, my mother passed away at 6:28 AM on Friday September 5, 2008 after a short battle with brain cancer. I miss my mother, but I rejoice in knowing that she is in a much better place, happy, healed, and in the presence of our LORD.
We enjoy the mountains, but we also enjoy the beach. We have a 40 foot diesel motorhome and enjoy RVing and traveling. Lynn has begun our travel blog: Vroom With a VUE, but it needs to be updated.
Rachel enjoys athletics, (especially volleyball), all kinds of music, and talking with her friends.

After almost 22 years as a Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol (the last 11 as a supervisor), I am currently on an extended Leave of Absence to serve the country in my capacity as an Army Reservist. I am in my third year stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA. I have posted almost 23 years in the active duty and reserve military, Navy and Army. Lastly, I am currently pursuing a PhD. in Business Administration, with a specialization in Applied Computer Science from North Central University (Arizona). In addition, I have a B.A. from Free Will Baptist Bible College and a B.S. and M.S. from American College of Computer and Information Science (Now known as American Sentinel University).
Lynn is graciously fulfilling duties of a wonderful housewife, assisting me with the transition to military life (and my move to Virginia). She is currently also in school pursuing a degree in education at Western Governors University. She hopes to become a teacher. Anthony is currently serving our country proudly in the United States Army. He has recently returned stateside from his second tour in Iraq.
Rachel has begun her senior year of college and is attending classes at the University of Central Florida, Clermont Campus.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God the Father. We believe that man is born in a sinful state, separated from God and destined for eternity in hell. Only by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ can payment be made for sin and forgiveness obtained. Faith in Christ is followed immediately by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which then bears witness to us that we are children of God.
